Happy 5 Months Matteo!

Our boy is five months old.  To wish him a Happy Five Monthaversary a virus/cold welcomed itself upon Matteo's poor body.  Poor thing woke at 2am on Thursday (November 12) with a fever of 102.  He was drying and grunting and generally unhappy.  We took him to the pediatrician on Thursday morning where they said the virus would just run it's course, but also prescribed him an antibiotic what looked like the beginning of an ear infection.  Poor little baby!  Today is Sunday and his congestion is at it's worst (so far).  I hate it!  It gives him trouble eating and sleeping (two things he doesn't typically have problems doing)  But he's hanging in there and is still pretty chilled out considering how bad the congestion sounds and how bad his temperature was.  His temp is mostly down now though, thankfully!  That's my boy!

After leaving the doctor we went to pick up Matteo's prescription at HEB (where I ran into Jaclyn) and Sergio drove around the parking lot to keep Matteo asleep in the car.   When I came out to get back in the car with the prescription (and junk food in hand--just ask Jaclyn, she saw what I bought at the checkout!)  I opened the back door to get in and there was a HUGE stuffed snowman in my seat!  Grammy got Matteo a treat just cuz he was sick!  Funnily enough, I had looked around HEB for something (because let's face it, HEB has EVERYTHING) but found nothing to offer Matteo as a consolation prize for being sick :(  Grammy came through without even knowing it!

He also, had another first on this past Tuesday...he got his feet stuck in the rails of his bed!  It was bound to happen really.  I rescued him though.  Twist my arm to make me go in his room, though, right?

He is also getting really good at sitting up!  I think he wants to be independently mobile, so I'm thinking that won't be far behind!  eek!
