Linkity Links

There are some links I must share with you.

I'm a big crier, this whole pregnancy gig has amplified that for sure! But really, we all cry for different reasons. Sometimes we cry over the same thing, but for our own individual reasons. Watch the video on this post from Kelly's Korner. I don't even know what to say right now.

Congratulations to Zach and Carrie Ryan, on the birth of their handsome son, Porter! Check out the cuteness here!

I am watching The Wedding Singer and really wanted to leave you a clip of one of my favorite part(s), but in looking for the link(s) on youtube.com I realized my fave parts have some pretty foul language and thought perhaps, not appropriate. (terrible huh?) So, instead, this is what you get! Turn the sound up on your computer and just love it! :)

And, who doesn't love a good belly shot? (32 weeks as of yesterday!)

Wood Floors Lurking

Yesterday two fun and amazing things happened. Clearly, I don't get out much anymore (you'll see what I mean once you read on)

Number One: We had an electrician out to see what is the haps with the electricity in our garage in order to make our garage door work at the push of a button (as opposed to lifting the dern thing manually--which I've never been into). With Matteo's arrival just around the corner I really wanted the ability to pull up the drive, click a clicker and voila! the door magically opens for one's car to enter! It apparently was an easy fix (for the electrician).

Garage door-CHECK!

Number two: So while said electrician was here, he replaced an annoying switch in our living room with a new non-annoying one (it works!). At this point, soaking wet carpet was discovered in the living room (as well as water soaking through the brick fireplace-neat). When the carpet was pulled back look at what little gem was found! Parquet wood floors! They most likely are original from the time our house was built!

Cubby Cubbies

YAY for Target ads coming in the mail. We saw this totally cute little cubby shelving thing in it a few weeks or months ago and knew it'd be perfect for our lil Dude! We finally went ahead and purchased it and Sergio put it together this weekend! I HEART IT!

And, look at the cute lil night light! So cute! Here's a close up!

Matteo's Board Shorts and More...

Um, are these not the cutest?

"If Mommy
says no ask
Grandma"

"I'm a cutie
My mom's
a babe
And my dad
totally rocks"

I love all of these lil items and can't stop looking at them and how small they are! I think we've also found the outfit to take Matteo home in. It was a very special gift from our niece Madison!

I'm in Love with a Tree

Look Ma! Two post in one day!

Seriously, how gorgeous is this tree in my Baby's room! My husband is the most talented artist ever! I am so delighted! The pictures don't even begin to do it justice--EVEN MORE beautiful when you are actually standing in front of it!

I'm such a proud wife! :)

I love this sweet little detail!

Sneak Peek

I am hiding in our bedroom away from some seriously strong oil-based paint fumes happening in Matteo's room. Sergio got to paintin' this morning on the baby cabinet as well as the "art" on the wall! So excited! The paint for the cabinet is oil-based and stinky! Not good for Baby or Baby Mama.

So, here was our original inspiration for what's going on with the wall. My mom and I came across it weeks or months ago before we knew what the plan was for the nursery. This image is from Pottery Barn Kids. Pottery Barn is actually selling the shelves which we're not really planning on but we LOVE the tree idea...

I was so delighted when I snuck into Matteo's room to see the progress on the cabinet and discovered Sergio had started on the TREE!!!! I am sad I cannot be in there to watch the magic unfold, but, it stinks like paint! :)

Take a look at the talents of my artistic genius:

He is starting to work on the leaves now! I am going to be a good wife and get my man some lunch. PizzaHut.com style! :)

GLEE!

I heart fabric

Ok, so, update about the fabric choices for Matteo's room! We have totally chosen different fabrics, they are based on the same idea and very much the same color choices, only adding a very subtle moss green into the scheme and much richer fabrics and patterns! YAY! I am practically singing with joy as I write about them! I love the updated choices branched off the original ones. Yes, we kept the bird fabric and have a special use for it!

Oh my gosh, and I just realized I forgot something TOTALLY cute! The diaper stacker. It's for stacking diapers in it, ya know. So cute, but looks like sweet little boy corduroy overalls!

Sigh...

Life is good.

Matteo's Room-Getting Started

I am really enjoying having a project to work on in my spare time (which I have an abundance of). I really enjoy decorating and I really love Matteo so what would be better than decorating Matteo's room!? Pieces and ideas are coming together.

Here is the crib:

Ok, so ours is still in the box. This next picture is the display one in Baby's First Furniture where it was purchased. Thanks to Sergio's parents for the gift! The bedding on there is not ours, but isn't it pretty!? It would be my second choice...if I had one.

Here's the rocking chair we got yesterday! So excited. I was getting a little sad, thinking we wouldn't be able to get it! But YAY! It's ours!

Here's the rocker: (it swivels too!)

Here's ours with the matching ottoman...right after Sergio carried it upstairs all by himself. It's a bit of an awkward piece of furniture to carry! I walked out of our bedroom to find him like this. HA!

Sergio painted Matteo's Room last weekend and I already LOVE IT!

Before:

During:

He was painting the trim and couldn't resist the open wall...it was painted over...we have other ideas up our sleeves for fun designs on the wall!!!

We are also using a baby cabinet that was my sister's, then my brother's and then mine, when we were lil babies and now Matteo will have it. For some reason it is currently a dark blue but Sergio is working on beautifying it... that is likely a whole other post for another time. If you look in this picture you can see the inside is yellow. It has seen many colors in it's time! More updates on the cabinet later!

COLORS!!! Here are the fabric swatches that we're planning on using for the bedding and the window coverings! Thanks Mom! She is making all the bedding and window coverings and is helping me with the creative juices!!! So excited! They are beautiful colors and textures. I do have to send an appreciative shout out to my sister-in-law, Stephanie and my mom for finding these. We are now looking for one more to add to the group. It's in the works.

Here are two more lil ornamental things to go in his room, I am sure soon to be removed as soon as our Matteo starts to climb (which I am afraid will be sooner than I think, according to stories of Sergio as a child--oh dear!)

The bird actually has some newly special significance, I will write more about that later! :) I love them "M"! Another find by my mom at Kirklands! I am so glad she found it. I love it!

OH! And I almost forgot one of my fave details! A NEW CEILING FAN LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN! HA!

It's a tiny little baby fan! Look at it's lil blades! Regular fans are often about 52" give or take but this lil guy is only 24" but pumps out the cooling power of a 36 incher! It's not like Matteo will immediately be needing a fan or anything but it's just so darn cute. If we were having a girl I was dying to put in an adorable girly chandelier but that's not gonna fly with my boy...or my husband. I couldn't find a good link to it online so I just took a picture of the box! How cute is the fan? I just want to start talking baby talk whenever I see it!

And these little gems my mom found online! I LOOOOOVEEEEE THEM! They are sooo pretty! Um, I mean, they are so boyish and manly...whatever.

Laying them on he floor doesn't exactly do them justice, they will look wonderful and amazing on the wall!

So that is his room at this point. So enjoying seeing it all come together.

A little update on our health. I had a little scare on Tuesday morning. Matteo had not been moving around as usual over night and the previous afternoon. Tuesday morning I had my mom drive me into the OB's office as soon as they opened with out an appointment but figured, if they wouldn't take me (although I knew they would) I would just go next door to the ER and have him paged that way! (Lil trickster) Anyways, They hooked me up to the monitors and all that and discovered I was dehydrated (which I was surprised because I drink SO MUCH WATER)... Anyways... we could hear Matteo moving on the machine and after about an hour or so I could feel him moving again. They were glad I came in. So, we are fine! I wish I didn't have to get up 8-10 times a night to pee but, it's a small price to pay really.

I go to the 4D ultrasound specialist again on Wednesday for my 30 week ultrasound (although I will be 29 weeks). Will keep ya updated and maybe even have more pictures of Matteo to share!
