Christmas Day

Christmas is amazing with a 6 month old.  We spent Christmas Eve with Sergio's family and Christmas Day with mine.  Since Matteo was asleep from 10pm on Christmas Eve to 7am Christmas morning he missed the Festivities at my in laws and therefore, no pictures were taken!

Here is Christmas morning.

He is diggin' into his first present.

Eyeing it!

 Playing with it.

We never knew how much Matteo would love the wrapping paper.  He wanted to play with it and eat it all day!

Uncle Taylor and Aunt Stephanie helped him with another present.
Click on this one to really see Matteo's face!

He loved this ball.  It plays music and lights up and even rolls around on it's own!

Stephanie crocheted all of our gifts!  Matteo's might need a little extension. :)

Sergio's fits good!

Look at the frog she made!!!

She made me an awesome scarf and I LOVE IT!
Here we are at lunch.  This is what I get for saying "Everyone look natural"
(You might need to click on the pic to zoom into the faces)

Notice in the previous pic behind my Dad there is a laptop.
We didn't bring our baby monitor so Stephanie got our laptops out and used gchat to watch Matteo while he slept in the other room.  Genius!

All the sudden we look over to see my brother Taylor next to Matteo!  hahaha

Here is Matteo with his paper!

Seriously!

We started a new Tradition this year.
The Ultimate Gingerbread House Extravaganza!
Two teams,
"Siblings" vs "Spouses"
Three categories of judgment
Originality, structural soundness and teamwork.
Here's the "Siblings" team
(We got a bonus sibling, Mo, Taylor's best friend and Madison was on our team too)

We did a "Social Commentary" as Taylor worded it, showing only rooftops as a throwback to Ike.  Notice, the sign on the roof "Take a Hike Ike" PAH!

Here are the "Spouses" + Gunnar

They won the structural category.  The "Siblings" won the "Originality" and somehow the "Teamwork" category.  (Not sure how that happened with the team work thing.)
Maybe it's because our parents where the judges, but Sibling won overall.

AND! We all got monogrammed snuggies from my parents!
I don't have pictures yet, to be posted later!  You're gonna love it!

Merry Christmas Peeps!

PreChristmas Happs

Oh, that face!!!

SMILES!!!

Hehehe he was going to town on Sergio's finger, gnawing at it like a spare rib! ha!

Sunday was Sergio's brother's daughter's 4th Birthday party.  Here's Kaelynn with her cake!  It was fun and she was very sweet.  Look at that cake!  RJ Goodies makes the best looking and tasting cakes!  yummmmmm

This is the best family shot we got, the ones that were taken with Santa were blurry & I'm waiting on the ones from my in laws...
Yep, Sergio's t-shirt has a vest and tie printed on it.  hahahahaha

Santa!

 Santa!

 My MIL with my boy.

 Four generation picture.
Sergio's grandmother who I have conversations with where she speaks only Spanish and I speak only English.  Somehow it works.  We get each other.  She is my father-in-law's Mom shown here with my FIL, and of course Sergio & Matteo.

Christmas is in only 4 days!!!!

For the Love of Bunnies

He has a love for his frog lovie but this day, it was the bunny.  Sergio calls me a bunny (or something of that kind) not because he is sappy but because he loves my teeth.  I'm just being honest here, people.  God gave me a man who even loves my two front teef.

Six Months is Halfway To One Year

I seriously do not know how the past 6 months have gone by so fast! Matteo turned 6 months old yesterday! I keep thinking that if we repeat the same length of time we have already done...Matteo is going to be ONE YEAR! That is crazy! But awesome.

Here are some of Matteo's goings ons.

He's a monkey!

It snowed in Houston.  It was all very odd.  The City of Houston does not have salt to put on icey roads and people certainly do not know how to drive on snow...there was "breaking news" reports interupting shows throughout the day.  Really people?  Really?  Some areas had a whole COUPLE/FEW INCHES.  I'm laying on the sarcasm pretty thick, so I hope you are picking up on that.   But, it was fun to take Matteo out for a few minutes!  He could not resist putting on his Santa Suit for the occasion.

He is wondering "why isn't this thing going any faster?!"

Snuggly bunny.

This is what happens when you look away for 2 seconds.
He gets half his body backwards underneath the couch!

And he knows it is very funny!

We lowered his bed recently.  Sniff sniff.  He is growing up already!

 Watching early Sunday morning TV.

Happy Six Months!

Rub a dub dub, thanks for the grub

This post is probably something I should have already done. I have to tell you how amazing God is. He provides. God has blessed us like crazy and last week I was able to see Him bless another family from my MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) group. Her husband has been out of work for 14 months. With the economy and his industry...there's just not work in that field. I know what can happen to a man out of work. I know what it's like to be the wife.

When the company Sergio and I worked for (in the Apartment Industry I was an Apartment Manager and he was a Multi-Property Supervisor) sold their properties and Sergio's potition was eliminated he was out of work. Over a period of months and months God provided for us.  I had already left to go to a job making much less money because God told me to go, but He ended up providing above and beyond our imaginations. When the money going out to pay bills was less than the money coming in, somehow, every bill was covered.  God's plan is always so much better than ours. When I see "my plan" not working out...I have to remind myself that God's plan is so much better and I have to hang in there for that. I would much rather have his plan, it is always His perfect will and something beyond what my little brain could fathom. He also provided in a big way when He overruled what our governing authority was doing and kept forkin' out the dough right when we needed it. Many times I screamed in public after receiving a phone call or danced in my front yard with my husband when the provisions came in!

So, this sweet Mom said in a prayer request that she needed a Christmas Miracle, and she got it! Someone anonymously left what she referred to as a "Grocery Store" worth of food outside her back door. It was so amazing to see God work and see Him provide for other people as he has for us. To me, it confirms He is who He says He is.  God is the ultimate provider.  Right down to the details of items they needed she wrote in an email sent to all MOPS Mom's.

For anyone struggling with this I recommend a) praying and listening.  That is NUMBER ONE!  b) talking to me (clearly not nearly as good as talking to God, so talk to Him first for sure, but I understand it, sister, I understand.  And c) a book Pastor Gregg Matte of Houston's First Baptist Church recommended to the church in 2008.  It's a short read, and a good one!

Those should maybe go in the order of  a), c) then b) but you get what I'm saying.

God is providing and he is not just bringing home the bacon, he has the entire pig, farm and all.  And He is providing and not just for the SQ's.

Whatever your prayer is, from the title of this post to the prettiest of prayers, He is listening and answering.
