Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

Matteo loves this book.

When he sees it, he throws it in my lap so that I'll read it to him. He sits on my lap and we read. And by that I mean, I read it as fast as I can before he turns the page! I'm not even kidding. He TURNS THE PAGE.  He takes either one of his cute little (big) hands and TURNS THE PAGE.  He is actually pretty good about doing it when I'm done reading that page.  He likes to look at the pictures and touch all the animals eyes.  He quite likes Purple Cat, Purple Cat.
I don't know why but he always touches the eyes.  It's cute.  I have seriously memorized this book.  I chant the words in my sleep.  Green Frog, Green Frog, what do you see?

You probably have to read it to know what I'm talking about.  And if you have read it, I'm know you totally understand.

It's an amazing and beautiful thing to see him learn and do new things.  The look in his eyes when he discovers something new is too cool.

What were you doing this time last year?

Well, this time last year I was VERY pregnant!

This is why I love blogging, take a look back with me at May 2009!

On this specific day last year I was crying out to Matteo; "it's time to come out!"

God is so good!  I cannot believe our Matteo is almost one year old!

The funny thing is, I truly don't remember all the symptoms I had.  I said that to someone once and she started listing them off for me!  hahaha  I was in such a yucky place, I look forward to one day having Baby SQ #2 and hopefully a less crazy, symptom-ridden pregnancy.  But, I would do it all over again for my darling sweet, strong-willed, perfect Matteo!

Mother's Day, Pest Control & Losing Weight.

Ok, longest title on the planet. I know. I have a feeling this will be one of those post where I ramble on then go back and edit out a lot of it. We'll see. I'm just getting started.

Today was my first Mother's Day.  Becoming a Mom was/is magical and amazing and wonderful and it has it's ups and it's challenges of course, but I'm also pretty sure there is nothing else like it. Mother's Day is intended to honor Mom's and I'm all about that (especially since I have an awesome Mom) but without children where would we Mom's be? ;) I love you Matteo! I'm just sayin', I love my boy!  What is indeed awesome about Mother's Day is the ring Sergio Matteo gave me!  It's so pretty.  I might have circled things in a catalog and left it in a conspicuous place.  Just maybe.

The Moms
(Me, my Mom and my sister)

So... I got a job! I will be working part time for a Pest Control Company doing all the officey things. NOT killing bugs because I'm not able to think about roaches and spiders etc without getting a shiver and saying "bleurgh" or something similar. ;) I am still trying to work out the details of where Matteo will be for the long run. I'm sure it will come together. The summer is the tricky part really. If anyone has suggestions or offers, I could really use them! For now I think I have it set for the fall (pretty sure), since he already goes to Mother's Day out (and is thriving there) I will work during those hours. It was all very sudden, like, Tuesday, the owner of the Pest Control Company approached me about it, Wednesday I accepted the job and Thursday I started working. I'm beyond delighted to have been offered and to have accepted this job and my new boss is super-uber-great and it all really was a God thing.

So that's the gist about that.

Hurray!

And finally for this post... losing weight. I am finally seeing and feeling progress. Since I started walking 3 miles a day for about the last 6 weeks I have lost 18 pounds, a total of 34 since I had Matteo. I still have a ways to go, but the progress is encouraging to keep on going. I'm going to add strength training this week. Woohoo!

I'm not sure how to wrap up this post, so I will tell you Matteo now has 8 teeth and that he went swimming twice this week!  Pictures to come in another post soon, I'm sure!

Buh-bye loves,
