Twin BOYS! (& Belly Shot)

It's very clear in the ultrasound from Tuesday, at 15 weeks 6 days pregnant that these little babies are BROTHERS!

Sergio took some time off work to take me to the appointment.  It was so surreal and exciting.  We kept saying the silliest things for a time like that.  All I could think of during the ultrasound after learning they are both boys was "I'm going to be a good mother in law.  I'm going to be a good mother in law...".  Sergio said to me after the ultrasound "Well, we don't have any weddings to pay for." and "They're going to find a point one day where they can beat me up." hahaha

Sergio had a meeting to go to at 10am so he dropped me off at my parents (Matteo was at Mothers Day Out) and we went to tell my Mom, I was holding two balloons that said "it's a boy!" but she didn't have her glasses on so she was looking at me with her arms out sayin "Well?!?!!??!".  After that, my mom and I went to my Dad's office to tell him.  On the way I called my sister and then to breakfast with my brother, Taylor and Stephanie.  Everyone was super excited!
We already bought Matteo a "Big Brother" shirt and the cutest bear onesies with hoodies for the twins.  Picture later!

Here are both twins, you can see the placentas (the masses right above/below the boys) I think they look huge but its actually normal.  Apparently.

Both of the boys are 6 ounces.  And they are perfect but I didn't need doctor to tell me that. :)

Here is Baby A (closest to the cervix)
And this is Baby B

After the ultrasound I had an appointment with my OB who was unusually serious.  Turns out he's super concerned about my blood pressure beng way too high.   I have never had high blood pressure, not even during my pregnancy with Matteo so this is new for me. He put me on a safe medication for it and told me to come back in a week.  Normal for me is 120/80 but for the last 3 visits or so, it has been in the range of 160/99.  Not so bueno and time to address it for sure.

As far as names go for the twins, we have picked them out, but are sitting on them for a few days. I hope to be able to announce them later in the week or so.

And lastly, here is a picture of yours truly a couple days before the ultrasound taken Sunday, September 26.  15 weeks and 4 days pregnant.

Ultrasound 12 weeks 6 Days

Babies!  Here is the latest ultrasound picture from yesterday.  Today I am 13 weeks.  My appointment went well yesterday.  My ob is awesome.  Thanks to Jaclyn for the recommendation btw because he could not possibly be a better doctor.

He wants me back in three weeks instead of four to check on me because I am feeling so rotten.  It works out because then I will be 16 weeks and we can find out the sexes of baby A and baby B.  Hurray!

One of the baby's heartbeat seemed higher than the other baby's and I asked if that indicated one was a boy and the other a girl.  He said not necessarily... and goes on to say "the best way to tell the sex is this:  the genitalia on a boy is on the outside and with a girl, it's on the inside"  and he just looks at me with his sarcastic look.  I said "I'm so glad you know that"  He point to his name on his shirt and says "I don't have M.D. after my name for nothin'"  hahaha

I feel terrible.  Did I mention that?

Matteo is doing well.  Today, we were having a snack at the kitchen table and he was turning his sippy cup upside down getting milk all over the place.  I turned it the right way and said "Not cool, Matteo".  He replied "Coooooool!"

What do you say to that?

So, I'm trying to enjoy the pregnancy, but it's sucking really hard.  I love the whole having the two babies in my stomach part and even the baby bump part.  But the severe nausea, fatigue, migraines, neck pain, vertigo, kidney pain, hemroids (there, I said it), constipation (how the heck do you think I got the hemroids?) etc etc finds a way of consuming me.  I try hard to just focus on Matteo and have fun with him and to fill our time productively.  Matteo really is sheer entertainment (except when he is throwing his toys or REALLY needs a nap) so it's fun but its been a challenge.  Like I said during my bed rest when I was pregnant with Matteo, I am sincerely thankful to be pregnant, but I still feel rotten.  Being grateful doesn't cure my symptoms.  My mom is a big, humongous help.  She's a youthful 59 and 11/12th years old and for these things I owe her more than I could ever repay her.  I mean, let's face it, I have always owed her for her awesomeness etc, but now, it's just ridiculous how amazing she is.

I know I said I wasn't going to "go on" about how yucky I feel but his blog is for me too.  Gotta record the good and the bad.

That is about it my friends!  I'm ready to find out the sex of the twins so I can start decorating their room!  I was thinking before we knew it was twins that there wasn't going to be as many baby things to buy this time.  Boy, is that a joke!  hahaha But, that is ok, I love shopping for baby stuff!  EEK!
