Getting Ready for Christmas

This year we were kind of late in getting our tree up, mostly my fault because we were undecided on details of where to put it how to decorate etc. now that we have Matteo. I love our ornaments and yada yada yada I was also procrastinating... It's not like I'm exhausted and pregnant with twins and with running around after an 18 month old or anything.  ;)

Here is big boy pretty sure he can get the tree out of the box (fake and pre-lit...the only way to go)

He played us some never before heard Christmas music!

Matteo's reaction when the lights were turned on!  He was pretty impressed!  He's done really well with the tree.  It is indeed free of ornaments (except lights) and he plays near it but never really touches it.  So far so good.

We are also hoping to "officially" drive Matteo around to see some Christmas lights but we live in a super over-eager neighborhood when it comes to Christmas lights.  Everytime we drive in the entrace to the neighborhood when it's dark outside and he sees all the lights he says "ooooooOOOOooooooo" and "perrrry!" (pretty!).  He loves it!  It's also a great distraction to keep him from falling asleep minutes from the house when it's so close to night night time (which all kinds of screws up bedtime when that happens!)

Merry Christmas!

Matteo's First Hair Cut

I am very late in posting, I figured before I have to post for Christmas, I need to go back to this...

On December 10th Matteo had his first hair cut.  He really needed it and looking back he needed it long before he got it...I was just not ready.  Not ready for my baby to be old enough to need a hair cut.  His hair...those curls are too precious and adorable and I was freaking out worried that they would be cut off and lost forever!

Sarah who has a daughter who is three days younger than Matteo recommended Little Lords & Ladies to me.  I'm not lyin' when I say I was having anxiety.  Everyone kept saying "oh you're just hormanal because you're pregnant."  Although that may be true, it was borderline tramatizing.  I was tense in the beginning of the hair cut and it turned to tears and then relief for my beautiful little guy.

Obviously Matteo was tramatized too. ;)

The lady who cut his hair was named Maria and was very nice.  She said her daughters have very curly hair so that gave me comfort.  She had a squirt bottle that she used to wet Matteo's hair and for whatever reason she gave it to him to play with. He promptly squirted her with it.  hehehe

He absolutely l.o.v.e.d the car he was sitting in.  He really wasn't even aware that she was cutting his hair.

I realize now I never really posted before and after pictures.  Let's see what I can do for you...

She really wanted to give him a lollipop... After this picture he threw it on the floor...which I was ok with.  Hair in his eyes much?

And the cutting begins!

Checking himself out...

And he approves!

This is the next morning.  I love his hair.  It's so nice now that it's not in the poor kid's eyes!  He was always using his forearms to get it off his face.

25 weeks

This is me today.  25 weeks and 1 day pregnant with Massimo & Marco.

This was me pregnant at 24.5 weeks with Matteo.

Anyone see a difference in size of bump here?

I don't honestly like either picture but decided to stop being so critical.  Just look at the bump and not any other feature.

So, it actually started hitting me the night before last that we have two babies coming.  At one time.  Two sweet darling wonderful babies.  At one time.  Yes, it has taken a while to hit me, I know.  Then, yesterday, I realized that this amazing thing will be happening to us in no more than 11 or 12 weeks. Holy crap!

My due date is technically March 16.  That is when I will be 40 weeks.  However since it's twins the OB is planning to take them out at 37 weeks.  Maybe 36 but not really any earlier or later (hopefully).

That's just crazy.

We ordered the cribs.  We have bedding.  We are getting paint today.  And, yep, that's just about it.  We should probably get crackin' on preparations.  We have plenty of things for one baby at a time but this is a two-fer so we just flat out do not have certain things.  Yah yah yah, we have time but if we keep saying that and procrastinating we will no longer have time. Plus, I'm getting more and more useless (aka big) and am not able to do everything I want to.  Annoying. It will come together.  I'm just sayin, now is the time to start working towards it.  I did register though.  Yay me.  At babies r us.  Still need to do Target.  Maybe next week.

Eek!

Change of subject.

This morning Matteo was repeating words to me really clearly and we were playing and getting ready for him to go to Mother's Day Out.  We were laughing and I said "How'd ya get to smart?!"  Very seriously he answered "Mommy".  Aww, hehehe.

He has started blowing kisses.  Well, really, he puts his hand to his lips then kisses his hand and wants to then place his hand on your lips.  It's more like a transfer of kisses rather than blowing of kisses.  He is all about kisses.  And we LOVE IT.

Matteo also likes to sing along to music in the car.  It's beautiful because you can tell he's pretty into it.  It's awesome.

I'm going to have three sons.  Wow!
