Personally, the idea that she is now a Princess is so yawny to me. Like, the whole prince marrying a commoner and the concept of royalty and all that I mean. I married my prince charming to continue the metaphor so it's not like I want to be her. But I think all girls love a good wedding story. Having lived in Britain and knowing how the British are and the Royals, although it is interesting, fun and makes me curious at best I am not interested to be one of them.
That said, at 5:20am I turned on the tv to watch them have their royal wedding. What the heck with that?
For an educated and not arguably more informed blog about this I suggest you to my pal, Jen the Newlywed for that. Click here.
My thoughts:
Kate (ahem, Catherine, pardon, the Princess, er, Duchess) was sooooo composed. I was so impressed and thrilled to see her this way.
Remember her here? Although she is very pretty and overall well-spoken she was bumbling over her nervous words that day in the blue dress. And hello, she is totally allowed to have felt that way but it made me so nervous for her I could hardly watch.
So it was during that part where I noticed a girl in a blue dress sitting behind the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen. I didn't immediately recognize her as herself and her sister as Fergie's children but oh my goodness they looked like the Evil Stepsisters from Cinderalla. What were they thinking to not only leave home like that but to let the other one out of the house like that?
Here are their fully pictured outfits. (I actually am one of the few American's who love a lot (not all) of the fun and beautiful hats a lot of the women were wearing but let's face facts here.)
And that blue dress. What? I just don't know what to say.
Let me put it this way. I saw the following picture on a friends fb and didn't at first notice what was different about the picture. There is something bizarre about that. Something not quite right.
Sorry honey. It's not working for ya.
Back to the good stuff.
So composed. Look at her. Lovely.
Her sister Pip looked great in her dress, subtle and not overbearing even in white, but a great choice in a dress with a perfect line. Love it.
I cannot get over this shot. I love it. Look at the lines.
Confident, composed. Not arrogate but so composed. Can you tell I think she was extremely composed?
I found this picture of her dress number two. Totally appropriate and pretty. Just thought I would share it with you.
Around 7am the kiss was to happen (actually 7:25 local time). We have all seen this image of Charles and Diana so I had to witness history when Will and Kate had their kiss. I woke Sergio up and he put his glasses on and promptly fell asleep before he saw anything. Awesome. lol
When the kiss actually happened Matteo, Sergio and I did get to watched it. Matteo started kissing us because we kept talking about "the kiss" so much. haha
I thought it was great and very cool that they kissed twice.
And what can I say about the little flower girl on the left?
