We are hoping to buy a more family friendly vehicle sometime in the near future and of course I need the input of my blog-family. The Nissan Murano we have is ok for now, but we certainly could use more people space and cargo space. And as the kid's grow...we definitely need more space!
The Minivan:
Toyota Sienna
Well, hi there.
Honda Odyssey
Hellooo.
The SUV:
Chevrolet Traverse
How do you do?
Buick Enclave
Why hello, you.
I must admit I am loving all of these. I am very interested in the sliding door aspect of the minivan. I can't control who parks next to me after I have parked and people ALWAYS park too close to the side of my car! It's very frustrating and so difficult to load 1, 2, 3 kids into the car with no room at the door!
I definitely need a third row. There is just not room to have them all on the same row right now, and as they grow...it's just a bad idea. We need that third row. I want the second row to have captains chairs (which is available in all of these choices, I believe) so that the third row can be (relatively) easily accessed.
Also, if you have seen how much milk a kid who is wielding a bottle or sippy cup can get on your seats...well, you know, we need leather. Something wipe-able!
I read something on this today saying something about Minivan mom's having "given in" to all things motherly but SUV mom's were desperately clinging to something they're not anymore. Personally I was offended by both sides of the argument which was written by a mother. Obviously, she's an idiot. What? Are we suppose to simply don mom-jeans and say screw it? I say not.
You must chime in with your advice and thoughts!
Minivan or SUV?

well, against my better judgment we went with the Sienna. And I have to say that it was the best "mom" decision I've made. Dave really kicked up a fuss, but it really is amazing. I love it, and I can't imagine not having it. It's a big hurdle to jump, but I have a feeling you'll never regret it!
Oh dear. Here we go. I know I've always wanted to be a soccer mom but would I go for a minivan? I just don't know.
I've heard from people that have minivans that they LOVE them. And it seems like they would be so much more convienent. But gosh darn it they look so funky! Ha.
I'm not a fan of mini vans... we have gone to check on some suv's and mini vans and of course you guys popped on my mind...3 kids....pppfffff. As I put myself in your shoes... I would go for the mini van. The ways you can go back and forth once you are inside is awesome and the sliding door just simplifies everything... its all about their safety and making your life easier, right?
I would go for the mini-van, but jeremy just won't have it. We are wanting to get an SUV, and I really like the traverse, pathfinder, and I want to look at the Mazda..i think it is called a CX9? something like that.....
The van sounds dreamy to me though...automatic sliding doors? yes please.
I'd prefer a minivan to an SUV.
I like the Honda minivan. I hear Hondas are supposed to last forever.

I think Minivans just have a bad reputation. We went and looked at some along with the SUV's and they are pretty nice, not what we were expecting! Sergio wants the Sienna Sport (aka the Swagger Wagon). I can see him "trickin' his ride" hahaha ok, maybe not. But he does like it.
We have the Odyssey and I LOVE it. Stephen does too, and he'll even admit that now. ;) It replaced our 13 year-old SUV. We thought we were going to get another SUV, but when we found out we were expecting twins, I knew we needed to go the mini-van route. I even told Stephen the other day, "Even if money was not an issue, I would still buy this exact same car." That is how much I love it. The sliding doors will make your life SOOO much easier. I have all the babies on the same row now, but we can take out the middle seat in the second row when we need to. They are so versatile/flexible. With three small babies you will not regret having a mini-van, but you may regret having an SUV at this stage of your life. My 2 cents. Good luck and happy car shopping!! ~Mary Ruth
MINIVAN, for sure!!!
well...As the owner of an Expedition, I guess I am an SUV girl. I can see the relevancy on both sides - sliding doors are more convenient, SUVs are prettier... both seem to get horrible gas mileage, although the minivans are making bigger strides in that department lately.
Following from the hop!
